Guests who stay overnight in the Sedgwick County Local Marketing District would pay a lodging tax on the total amount of their stay for all stays less than 30 days. Currently there is no County Lodging tax that is collected. This would create a 2% Lodging Tax on all short-term stays in Sedgwick County
The lodging tax funds will help fund the Local Marketing District for the propose of Economic Development, ChildCare, Workforce Housing and Tourism Marketing in Sedgwick County.
The Sedgwick County Local Marketing District will increase funding for Childcare, Economic Development, Workforce Housing and Tourism which are all essential for growth in Sedgwick County and will help us create a sustainable community for workers to live and prosper.

Residents of Sedgwick County are allowed to vote on thes measure.
The Local Marketing District covers the entirety of Sedgwick County.
All lodging properties, including vacation rentals, in the Local Marketing District will collect the lodging tax from their guests.
Guests who stay overnight in Sedgwick County pay the lodging tax. Residents DO NOT pay the lodging tax.
The Sedgwick County Local Marketing District is asking for a 2% lodging tax.
Sedgwick County will implement and provide oversight of the funds. When a guest stays overnight, those funds are sent directly to the Colorado Department of Revenue. The money is then passed to Sedgwick County. The Sedgwick County Local Marketing District Board will accept applications from residents or businesses of Sedgwick County. The Board will then review all applications and make decisions on which projects or events to fund. They will then submit their recommendations to the Sedgwick County Commissioners for final approval.
